Let’s face it. Blogs are kind of lame these days. They just aren’t as fun as they used to be. I remember when we made the very first deneb site like ten years ago or whatever, it was awesome just because the internet was new and exciting. Websites were just hilarious pieces of crap back then. Now everyone has their own blog, and they are all crazy and stupid and there are like ‘professional’ bloggers and stuff. Fuck that, but I guess it had to happen. Anyways, I am going to keep this blog going, even though it might not be the most exciting thing, I just want it for my own records if nothing else. I guess I am just feeling nostalgic right now because Alex sent me this link to his old diary that he kept for a few weeks during sophomore year of high school, mostly to vent. It really is hilarious to read, and I am dedicating this post to it. Here are some of my favorite excerpts:

So yeah. That is Alex’s old journal. Completely random. Time to go to bed.

The other day my mom asked me if I could transfer some cassette tapes to CDs for her. Since I clearly have nothing else to do with my life right now I said ’sure.’ I brought the tapes up to my room and brought out my old four track tape player, which I soon discovered would no longer play tapes due to some ‘repairs’ I had to carry out a few weeks ago in order to get a headphone jack out that had broken off inside. ‘No big deal’ I thought, ‘I’ll just go grab my stereo from the other room, the tape player probably sounds better on that anyways.’ Not the case. For some reason the sound was alternating between being really muffled and really warbley. I was starting to get mildly frustrated, but I just went down and got my dad’s old expensive tape deck from his crazy stereo system, figuring that it would sound the best and definately not break down. Sure enough, I brought it up and after recording the first song from a tape and using some noise reduction in the software I was using, I had a really great sounding recording. Then I went to record one more song and the tape deck started to act really weird, like it was constantly trying to switch the tape direction. After messing around with it for an hour I concluded that it was completely fucking broken. I could not find any other tape decks in the house, so I asked Chris if I could borrow the one he had in his basement. Well, last night I went to get it and this morning I hooked it all up, thinking that there was no way in hell it was not going to work. Of course, it doesn’t work. None of the buttons seem to do anything at all. Now I have four broken tape decks and a big stack of Christmas music tapes on my desk that may never be heard again. I have two theories about this:

1. Every tape deck I come into contact with for the rest of my life will instantly break.

2. Tape decks just don’t work anymore. It’s 2008, and all tape decks have reached their expiration dates. Nothing on a tape will ever be heard again.

I’m pretty sure one of these is true. Or maybe Chris will come over and show me some secret trick about his tape deck that I don’t know about. We will find out. Anyways, if you have a tape deck, I need to borrow it. So I can break it.

Today was memorial day. It was a very nice day. Unfortunately I spent it inside, still sick. But I am slowly getting better. By next weekend I should be able to starting going on bike rides again, which makes me happy. I just had a huge slurpee. That also made me happy. It just started to rain outside really hard and I think it is going to start thundering soon, which is cool too.

That is my trusty blue AA and NA focus. The only car out there braving the rainy weather.

Well, I never made it on the adventure today. I hate being sick so much. I just want to feel better. HOPEFULLY I will feel better tomorrow and I will be able to actually go do something. I didn’t want to get all complain-y already on only my third post, but I mean, I have been sick for almost the entire time I have been home after graduating like a month ago. ENOUGH ALREADY. Geez. I have had to postpone so many bike rides. So lame. Ok that is all for now. I am going to sleep for hopefully a very long time. Goodbye.

Alright ok I apologize for that last post. Don’t read it. Seriously. Ugh.

So I have pretty much finished the design here. Let me know what you think so far. It is simple, I know, but that is how I roll. I basically wanted to make this look as close to my old site as possible, but slightly more functional and easy to read. I might try to widen this column or something, I dunno. Actually I think it might look a little too gray and depressing right now, but once I start posting bright color-y pictures it might be a little better. We’ll see. I am just glad to have this up and running finally. It has been a while since I have had a site to update on a regular basis, and I have really been missing it lately. All I can say at this point is stay tuned. This is way easier and more convenient for me to update than my last site so hopefully I will be posting here quite a bit. Now I just need to start having some more adventures, and as long as this stupid sore throat goes away I will be going on a good one tomorrow. Hooray!
